About this directory and the Arkansas pediatrics market
The training years were structured. The first contract is not.
Then your final year starts and the path stops drawing itself. Recruiters start emailing. Contracts show up before you have asked anyone what a contract is supposed to look like.
Nobody is telling you what other pediatrics practices exist in Arkansas, what the contract really says, or which lawyer to call. The senior people in your program signed without reading because they had no guide either. This directory is the first page of the map.
What other resources point to in Arkansas
There are 200 pediatrics practices in Arkansas on this page, and every single one is physician-owned. I built the list from the NPPES NPI Registry, then layered on business data from DataForSEO for practice websites, phone numbers, and descriptions. Hospital-system practices, government clinics, academic positions, and corporate-acquired groups didn't make the cut. The listings cover 21 cities across Arkansas.
Here's why I built this. When I was looking at private practice opportunities, I couldn't find a single resource that separated physician-owned practices from everything else. Job boards don't do it. Recruiter databases don't do it. So I built it from the NPPES registry. Whether you're finishing training, thinking about a lateral move, or exploring partnership-track positions in Arkansas, this gives you a filtered starting point that actually tells you who owns what.
The Arkansas pediatrics market in detail
Arkansas's physician-owned pediatrics directory lists 140 practice locations across 20 cities. The largest groups are UAMS Health - Neighborhood Clinic (2 locations) and UAMS Health - Renita S. Pushparajah Mak, M.D. (2 locations).
None of the pediatrics practices listed in Arkansas carry a PE-Backed or Corporate-Acquired flag. All listings in this directory are physician-owned independent practices verified through NPPES.
Practices span 20 cities including Benton, Bentonville, Brookland, and Bryant.

Frequently asked questions about pediatrics in Arkansas
How many Pediatrics private practices are in Arkansas?
There are 140 physician-owned pediatrics private practices in Arkansas, verified against the NPPES NPI Registry. All are independently operated. Hospital-employed, government, corporate, and academic positions are excluded.
What does physician-owned mean?
A physician-owned practice is one where licensed physicians hold controlling ownership of the business entity. This is distinct from hospital employment, corporate medical groups, or private equity-backed practices where non-physician entities control the business.
What does the Corporate-Acquired or MSO-Affiliated flag mean?
The Corporate-Acquired flag means the practice was historically physician-owned but has since been acquired by a corporate entity such as Optum. The MSO-Affiliated flag means the practice uses a Management Services Organization for billing and administration while physicians retain practice-level ownership.
PSLF and Loan Forgiveness When Leaving Hospital Employment in Arkansas
Arkansas's physician-owned pediatrics practices include Little Rock Pediatric Clinic (Little Rock, 10 physicians), Northwest Arkansas Pediatric Clinic (Fayetteville), Children's Clinic of Fort Smith (Fort Smith), and Pediatric Clinic of Jonesboro (Jonesboro).
What is an NPPES-verified practice?
NPPES is the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, a federal database maintained by CMS. Every practice in this directory has an active NPI record in NPPES, confirming it is a registered U.S. medical practice.
Does joining a private pediatrics practice in Arkansas affect PSLF eligibility?
Yes. PSLF requires working full-time at a qualifying 501(c)(3) or government employer. Most physician-owned private pediatrics practices are for-profit entities and do not qualify. Payments made while in private practice do not count toward PSLF forgiveness. If you have made 5+ years of qualifying PSLF payments, model carefully whether the income difference of private practice outweighs the forgiveness you would forfeit. The math depends heavily on your remaining debt and years to forgiveness.

Key Terms in Physician Contracts
Fair Market Value
The price at which a willing buyer and willing seller would agree to transact, with both parties having reasonable knowledge of the relevant facts. Physician compensation must meet fair market value to comply with federal anti-kickback and Stark Law requirements. Independent valuations are used for buy-in pricing, compensation benchmarking, and practice sales.
Collections-Based Compensation
A pay model in which a physician's income is tied directly to the revenue collected from their patient encounters. The physician typically receives a percentage of collections (40 to 55 percent is common) after overhead. This model rewards high-volume, high-acuity work but creates income variability.
Malpractice Insurance
Professional liability coverage that protects physicians against claims of medical negligence. Two main types exist: claims-made (covers claims only if both the incident and filing occur during the active policy) and occurrence-based (covers any incident during the policy period, regardless of when the claim is filed). Premium costs vary dramatically by specialty and state.
Ancillary Revenue
Income generated by a medical practice from services beyond physician office visits. Common sources include in-office imaging, laboratory testing, physical therapy, infusion services, and dispensing. Ancillary revenue can account for 20 to 40 percent of total practice revenue in procedure-heavy specialties.
NPPES (National Plan and Provider Enumeration System)
The federal registry maintained by CMS that assigns and tracks NPIs for all U.S. healthcare providers. NPPES data is publicly searchable and includes provider name, practice address, taxonomy codes, and enumeration date.
PSLF (Public Service Loan Forgiveness)
A federal program that forgives the remaining balance of federal Direct loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under an income-driven repayment plan while working full-time at a qualifying non-profit or government employer. Physician-owned private practices are typically for-profit and do not qualify. Forgiveness is tax-free.
Income-Driven Repayment (IDR)
A category of federal student loan repayment plans (SAVE, PAYE, IBR, ICR) that cap monthly payments at a percentage of discretionary income. Required for PSLF eligibility. Remaining balances are forgiven after 20-25 years on IDR regardless of employer type, though forgiveness outside PSLF is currently taxable income.
